2012 Burn2 Event: Burn 2 is fast approaching and will take place October 20 to October 28, 2012 in Second Life! This year’s theme is “Fertility” You can now purchase non transferable parcels for Burn 2, 2012! Just log into Second Life, and tp to the Burning Man sim. Burn2 is also looking for volunteers! Leonardo’s Machines: “Leonardo’s Machines” by Sniper Siemens gives newcomers the opportunity to discover up close the genius of Leonardo da Vinci. See how virtual worlds can join together art, education and architecture at this exhibit, available through August at the MIC – Imagin@rium
2012 Año de los Mayas: Learn about the “year of the Maya” in this Mexican history exhibit, held at the Pabellón de la Cultura in the Instituto Espanol through Aug. 29.
Fashion:
Vintage Fair 2012: Vintage Fair, held through Aug.29, showcases 250+ designer brands with each exploring inspiration from the vintage eras of 1920-1980. There’s also “antique” fashions (pre 1920s). Zodiac: Zodiac is a monthly themed discount sales event focused around the 12 signs of the zodiac. Each month, a new group of top SL designers will create a new and exclusive item inspired by the month’s zodiac sign. It all begins in July with LEO, featuring 15 creators through August 17.

The Pink Ribbon Fair: The Pink Ribbon Fair, held Aug. 4-25, is a fashion charity event that aims to raise funds for the American Cancer Society to help the fight against breast cancer. Learn more at http://pinkribbonfair.blogspot.ca.
Hunts:
Menstuff & Homestuff Hunts: Calling all hunt lovers! The team behind one of the biggest hunt brands in SL brings you Homestuff and Menstuff: two hunts for home décor addicts and male fashionistas. There are over 200 designers taking part in both hunts, so happy hunting! Runs August 3 -September 3.
Festivals:
Dragnopia Street Fair: The Dranopia Street Fair event, held Aug 14-19, features a special hidden egg hunt, live concert, costume party…and, of course, dragons! More details at http://bit.ly/OR4Ta4
Transylvania Turns Eight: Transylvania, Second Life’s oldest vampire community, will celebrate its 8th birthday in true Gothic style with a series of music events, award ceremonies and a lot of partying.
