You may not be aware but there is a very strong steampunk community alive and thriving in SL. What is steampunk… I’m glad you asked, Wikipedia describes it best here and in case you were wondering, yes with a name like Steam Engineer, Steampunk rates as my main influence in SL.
Today’s look wasn’t hard to put together and I needed only 4 designers, the main drive was in fact the hair, it’s free on the marketplace until July 12 and when I found it I just had to do a steampunk theme. The photography was taken at Steampunk the sim, inside one of the steam aircraft on display there and edited as always in GIMP – it’s well worth a visit to this sim to have a look around and see just what builders can actually achieve inworld.

There is usually an annual hunt for the Steam Community, in 2010 it ran in September and included around 130 stores – if it runs again this year, I would highly recommend it – well worth the effort.
