Christmas Classics: How The Grinch Stole Christmas! (The Creepy Theiving Bugger!)

Every Who Down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot, but the Grinch, who lived just north of Whoville did not. The Grinch, standing high on Mount Crumpet staring down and hating the Whos.

The 1957 Dr Suess book tells the story of a grumpy green monster who hates Christmas so much that he planned to steal it from the happy  residents of the Whoville. It has now become a popular story amongst our young generation. I had it when I was younger, and my parents before me. How The Grinch Stole Christmas, was another Christmas tale that added onto my young fear of the holiday, particulary the 1966 Chuck Jones animated story, in which the Grinch made the most terrifying face that it would haunt me every time I saw it.

Nevertheless the Grinch is a timeless classic, up there with A Christmas Carol, The Fir Tree, and Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year!
