As I continued to walk the cobbled streets of the Peace sim at the 2013 RFLChristmas Expo, I was again struck by the number of great stores occupying this space. Many are well known to me, such as Evie’s Closet and Aphrodite Shop. Oh, and in case you don’t know about Aphrodite, they have the nicest café at their in-world location, very family/kid friendly. Do check it out. Nice way to spend some time with your SL children.
I decided to begin today by visiting some merchants not so well known to me. DG Designs offers clothing and jewelry. The RFL vendors included two candy-ribboned formal gowns, and I liked the swing dresses on another wall. I wasn’t sure if they are mesh or not, but I believe they are.
My actual favorite in the store was the Gatcha machine, offering some really cute holiday pendants. I played the game and got three fun ones to wear this season, and a duplicate to give to my sister. I may go back for more. DG Designs is also participating in the Expo Bell Hunt and has a Naughty/Nice gift for you to click.
Well, a clever name got me again. Favorite Genes…… you gotta love it. This is a skin and shape store. All of the items in the store are in Relay for Life vendors and emphasize the winter season, with red cheeks for the men and women, and icy silver skin for faes. All have a demo of each skin available for check-before-you-buy, and fat packs are available. This generous designer has also placed out an Expo Bell and Naughty/Nice gift for visitors.
The next shop I visited was one I discovered through SL hunting, and is a Victorian’s dream. EB Design caters to builders and consumers alike, with a wide variety of items from garden supplies, musical instruments, furniture, clothing , housewares, textures and animations. Oh, and the animations she puts in her finished products are superb. When I visit EB, I always have to check my inventory to see if I’ve already purchased an items, because I like it all over again when I see it.
The items in EB’s RFL vendors are a lovely deep red steamer trunk covered with golden reindeers and a male and female mistletoe chapeau. Designer Elica Bowenford joins those in offering Bell prizes and Naughty/Nice gifts. (How many lumps of coal is Santa going to gift me with?)
I am so far from petite that my vocabulary rarely utters the word, but I do have petite friends and I am sooooooo glad that designers are there for them. Add Sister Fate* Petites to the list. Sister Fate has two cute female outfits in her RFL vendors, and a nice vest set for the guys on her wall. I really liked the petite sitting area near the biggie fireplace…nice touch, and I appreciated the signs that told everyone that her designs were for *petites* only. SFP is also participating in the Expo Bells and Naughty/Nice gifts. I now have enough lumps to run a locomotive….
This was my first encounter with Les Encantades, who boast fantasy, Gorean and medieval clothing. I was impressed with the quality and designs. Les Encantades has three gorgeous female outfits in their RFL vendors, all reasonable priced. Most of the designs are mesh, and marked so that you can easily tell mesh from non-mesh. I liked the look of all the offerings, and collected another lump of coal for my growing collection.
If you have been around SL for any length of time, you should know of Prism Designs. The tag line for this store is Adding Color to your SL. In the old days, it seemed that most of the avatars wore black. Once, I was the only one wearing teal to an event, and boy did I stand out.
Prism offers a variety of clothing in a variety of colors. All of the items in her Expo shop are mesh, and tailored for autumn and early winter casual wear. The RFL vendors here offer two dresses, one perfect for non-formal Christmas parties and the other would be just right for those last days of work before the holiday vacation.
There’s an Expo Bell in the shop and I actually got a GIFT from the Naughty/Nice here, so decided this was a great place to end my journey in Peace.
I will be returning to this sim on Saturday, December 14, 2013, for the Formal Ball, scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. slt in the Grand Ball Room. Hope to see you there.
