End the weekend with Tall Tales and Outright Lies, a collection of stories from the lives of many of the adventurous pirates at Armadan.
Thursday Nov 15th:
Iron Melee at 5pm, Blake Sea. >> An epic naval skirmish featuring the navies of the steamlands, slugging it out on the open ocean. Events will include:
1) King (or Queen) of the Hill. Your basic free-for-all. Last ship standing wins. 20 minute time limit.
2) Fleet Action. Based on a set of rules beiong prepared by New Babbage Commodore Jedburgh Dagger, taking into account points and ship numbers. The idea is to balance “big ship” and “mosquito ship” classes and everything in between.
:: Contact Commodore Jedburgh Dagger for details. (Thanks to Cmdr Robin Sprocket for critical assistance.)
Friday Nov 16th:
Tall ships and wind-powered vessels to compete in this yachting race around the sailing field, before cheering crowds gathered on viewing stands. Trophies will be on hand for the winners. SL wind powered class and non-SL wind powered class will compete in different events. (Time to be announced)
The finest submariners – and their daring mechanical marvels – will line up to compete against each other in this underwater tournament. The Public won’t want to miss this epic event grid-wide famous for its underwater dirty tricks. Appropriate dress is encouraged.* Competitors are invited to test the race field in the days before the event. (Time to be announced)
>> Armada’s famous race returns for fleet week . Take one of our partially mechanized remade turtles and race through an obstacle course full of spike, fire, axes and explosives. All are welcome to test their piloting abilities, or come and watch the show.
>> Come join the pirates of Armada as we have our after action party for the fleet week races and battles. Non pirates are of course welcome as well. (As an interesting note of history the term buccaneer originally referred to people who used bucans, small wooden grills popular in a few Caribbean islands. In honor of this our own Ceejay Writer will be grilling on the deck for the party. We may have one or two other surprises set up for the guests.)
:: See Vernden Jervil for details.
